How hypnosis and mindfulness helps with anxiety, being a single parent and teens with Dr. Elizabeth Bonet

Today’s guest is Elizabeth Bonet who is a certified Hypnotherapist with a PhD in Clinical Psychology, an author, podcaster, and yoga teacher. Dr. Bonet helps people feel more emotionally stable, happier and more connected to their partner, friends, and loved ones. Her specialties are hypnosis and anxiety along with doing couples counseling and Perinatal Mood Disorders. She has been a yoga teacher for over 15 years and was the founder of Yogafairy Prenatal Yoga, which she sold in May of 2016. Elizabeth is a single mom of two daughters, a cat and a rescue dog.

    • She is intentional with play and laughter with her daughters
    • Elizabeth gave example of conflict with her daughter and how she “put my anger aside and stayed present with her” and set boundary with staying respectful
    • Shared a Buddhist practice of creating a gratitude list when feeling angered
    • Your daughter’s emotions are not personal-they have right to own emotions
    • Encouraged parents to explore their own wounding, such as, fears of not moving out, not good enough, etc.
    • How “repairing” the connection is the goal in healing relationships
    • Having a daily meditation practice of 10 to 15 minutes has been compared to getting 3 hours of sleep
